New Year 2022
I have lived 50+ years, hell, 60+ years, but when this time of the year rolls around, as many times as I have dressed up for it, partied to it, blown noise makers during it, rushed into it, swooned with Auld Lang Syne as a result of it, enjoyed the festivities of it, been kissed by it, and danced through it, I still get excited by hearing, sharing, and shouting those 3 words – HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Greeting a New Year has never grown old. It has never lost its’ flavor. It has never lost its’ savor. It is a celebration that I always am thankful for. Grateful to toast to it whether it’s champagne, water, wine, a hot cup of tea or a mixed or on the rocks cocktail. I want to remember all of the joys I have experienced in the past year. I want to recount the laughter. I want to revel in the accomplishments. I want to be nostalgic about people and things I am saying good-bye to. I want to take time to reflect on the blessings and celebrations of friends and family. And I even want to take the time to wave a final farewell to those thank-God-its-over moments and situations.
Glancing back into the year that is now culminating, without reservation, I must admit that at times 2021 was a formidable opponent, challenging my very sensibilities and every part of my being. But goodness, mercy, love, courage, prayer, and whole lot of other positive things prevailed. So I’m Not worried about what didn’t go my way, because so many more things did. And when all is said and done, victoriously I can proclaim that 2021 is going, going, gone, and I am still here.
Welcoming and Transitioning into 2022 also lets me know that life for living continues to run through me and it encourages me to Love harder, Live harder, Play harder. Keep my light on. Keep my hope strong. And keep my heart open.
To all the family and friends of Hormones and High Heels,
My prayer, wish, and hope for you is to have a Happy New Year and a love filled and successful 2022
Be well and Be blessed
